Care Provider Needed for 5-Year-Old Boy with Autism in Oakland

Compensation:

• $30-35/hour based on experience and qualifications

• Paid time off to be discussed

Schedule:

• 25 hours per week during the school year

• Approximately 30 hours per week during summer breaks

• Flexibility for occasional weekend and evening hours highly valued

Employee Requirements:

• Spanish-speaking (strongly preferred)

• Valid driver's license with clean driving record and reliable vehicle

• Experience working with children with Autism or special needs

• Patient, compassionate approach to caregiving

• Ability to follow structured routines while being flexible to meet child’s needs

• Physical ability to engage in active play and provide necessary support

• Strong observation skills and ability to recognize signs of stress or overstimulation

* There are tax forms + a background check needed for this position. You will be paid for your time completing these extra steps. You will be paid every two weeks via check or direct deposit. References also required

About Our Family/Child

We are a loving family in Oakland (near Prescott Market) seeking a compassionate, experienced Care Provider for our 5-year-old son, "O". 

O is a happy, active boy with Autism who is currently nonverbal but communicates in his own ways. He attends a special education program at School and enjoys activities like jumping on trampolines, exploring sounds, and sensory play.

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing attentive supervision and care for O.

• Engaging him in appropriate developmental activities

• Assisting with daily routines (snacks, meals, hygiene)

• Transporting O. to parks, play areas, and community activities

• Supporting his communication attempts and encouraging language development

• Implementing sensory-friendly approaches to activities

• Following established routines and behavior support strategies

• Helping with light household tasks related to O.'s care (meal preparation, cleaning up after

activities)

• Occasionally assisting with laundry and general household organization
